In the arsenal of ways of carbon consumption and emissions reduction, the main tasks of modern metallurgy, briquetting occupies significant places. Today, briquetting is a cost-effective, industrially mastered technology capable to process natural and anthropogenic materials without their preliminary high-temperature treatment. The book summarizes the scientific research and the practice of briquettes use for the smelting of cast iron, steel, ferroalloys and the production of direct reduced iron.
