Plant species and animal species in India

India is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of biodiversity. 8% of all the species of the world are found here, about 16 lakhs. This is two or three times the number of subspecies yet to be discovered.

Some estimates say that in India, 10% and 20% of other flora and fauna are in danger of extinction. Many of these subspecies are in a critical state and are on the verge of extinction. These include the cheetah, the pink-headed duck, the mountain cuckoo and the wild bird. of owl and honey

International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources Conservation According to this they can be divided into the following categories

General Castes

These are the species whose numbers are considered normal for survival such as cattle, sal, pine etc.

Endangered Species

These are the species which are in danger of extinction. Due to the adverse conditions due to which their numbers have reduced, if this continues then it is difficult for these species to survive. Black Deer Crocodile Indian Wild Ass Monkey

Subhash Castes

These are those species whose numbers are decreasing. If the circumstances that adversely affect their numbers are not changed, then their numbers will continue to decrease. They will be included in the category of endangered species. Blue sea elephant, Asian elephant, Ganga river dolphin etc.

Rare Species

The number of these castes is very less and if there is not much change on the issues affecting them then they may fall in the category of endangered castes.

Endemic Species

Species found in specific areas beyond natural geographical boundaries: End Monkey, Nicobar Pigeon and Mani Wild Boar and Mithun of Arunachal are examples of these species.

Extinct Species

These are the same species which have been found absent when searched in their habitats. These subspecies have become extinct from the local area, the country, the continent or the entire earth. Such subspecies include the cheetah and the pink-headed duck.

The biggest loss to forests in India was during the colonial period. Even after independence, agriculture has been one of the first important factors in the shrinking of resources due to increase in railway lines, agribusiness, commerce, forestry, and mining activities. According to the Forest Survey in India, about 26200 sq. km between 1951 and 1980 km of forest area has been converted into agricultural land; most of the tribal areas, especially in central India, have suffered deforestation and degradation due to shifting cultivation or slash or barn farming.

Major Development Projects has also caused a lot of damage to the forests. Since 1952, more than 5000 square km of forest areas have had to be cleared due to river valley projects. More than 400000 hectares of forest area in Madhya Pradesh will be submerged after the completion of the Narmada Sagar Project.

Buxa Tiger Reserve in West Bengal is under serious threat due to dolomite mining

Animal grazing and cutting of wood for fuel play a major role in the wastage of forest resources.

Ecosystem Sanjay Ghosh of valuable substances, minerals and other resources of the country which is very important to meet the demand of rapidly growing industrial city economy.

Biodiversity in India Factors that reduce environmental degradation include destruction of wildlife habitat, killing and farming of wild animals, environmental pollution and pollution. Other main factors of environmental degradation include equitable sharing and abuse of resources, consumption and equality in responsibility for maintaining the environment.

Destruction of Forests and Wildlife Destruction of biological resources is not just a matter of biology. It is linked to the destruction of cultural diversity. Due to destruction, many indigenous castes and forest-based communities
