Before he sojourned around Cambodia, Matthew had no idea what the real world was like outside his home country: Australia. Excessive necessities, high pay, and a rich profusion of opportunities, were the few of the many luxuries he had that most Cambodians didn't. On the day of 17 September 2017, during a stressful time at school with mountains of paperwork, stress laden on his shoulders, and an awkward relationship with his class, he would snip off the worries of life and view the real world as he made a change to a few villages in rural Cambodia. Life wasn't perfect: during the trip, he succumbed to illness, the sultry heat, and the sadness of the impoverished. Everlasting memories would remain with him as he got along with his class, and he had one goal to accomplish: to earn his classmates' trust back.
