Marry in haste, repent in leisure. It was an old expression, but one that Carly lived every day. Three days after burying her mother, in a fog of grief and helplessness, she had met Richard. Two months later, they were married.
Eventually, she emerged from the grief and realized what she'd done. She was married to a man who didn't respect her and preferred her to be sad and dependent. She tried to make it work and to find a way to coexist, but as time dragged on, she became ever more isolated and miserable.
Then came the day she knew she couldn't continue like this. She didn't know what to change, but she knew something had to change. She would take it step by step -- baby steps to start. The first baby step was wearing something that made her feel pretty. The second baby step was allowing herself to dance and have fun on a night out with the girls. The third baby step was saying yes when a handsome man offered to buy her a drink.
Enough of those baby steps.
Carly is about to take a huge leap forward, right into this new man's arms.
