Alpha-daughter Aster Graves has always wanted to carve her own path in life, constantly caught between the loyalty to her Loup-Garou kind and her compassion towards mortals. After her pack is rescued from attack by the warrior pack of Salem, her entire life is turned upside down when she finds herself Calling-an ancient gift her pack has not experienced in generations. The Call goes against all Aster has ever wanted; yet, she can't escape the gravitation she feels towards her fated mate, who is nothing more than a stranger and the complete opposite of her. Her Fated shares the sentiment, loathing Aster's affections for mortals and her life of privilege, but not even a Loup-Garou warrior of his caliber can withstand the desire of being with the one the Ancients chose for him.

The Call drags Aster further into a world of unknowns, blurring the lines of what's right and wrong. As she tries to make sense of the difference between love and obsession, a terror is unleashed that may end all she's ever known and any chance she has at a future. A terror that she wants to protect with her life, knowing her Fated's purpose is to destroy it.
