Chandrayaan-3, is the third lunar exploration project to be carried out by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) following the launch of Chandrayaan-2. That it has a lander and the Pragyan rover, identical to Chandrayaan-2, but without an orbiter. Its propulsion system relays signals like a satellite. The propulsion module carries the lander and rover combination until the spacecraft is in a 100 km lunar orbit. following Chandrayaan-2's last-minute software mistake in the soft landing guidance software caused the lander's soft landing attempt to fail following a successful orbital insertion, another lunar mission was suggested. Chandrayaan-3's mission's first phase was successful.
On July 14, 2023, at 2:35 PM IST, a 100 km circular polar orbit was injected. The lander and rover are planned to touchdown close to the lunar south pole on August 23, 2023.
What are Chandrayaan-3's goals and expectations? This book outlines all of these things and many more.
