"N n no," I stuttered, entranced by his presence so close to me.
"Me neither," William said as he took a step closer, almost enveloping me with his wings, so it felt like we were the only two people in the woods. "Have you done this before? Getting chased and taken by a monster?"
I shook my head, sure that my voice would abandon me with his closeness. Everything around me evaporated as I looked into his brilliant amber eyes. They looked like liquid gold, swirling and mesmerizing me. How had I not seen him before? I was sure I would remember him.
William let go of my hand to cup my cheek, angling my head upwards. He bent down until our lips were only a hair's breadth apart. Arousal coursed through me, and I clenched in anticipation. I could smell his breath and the tantalizing cologne that suited him so well.
"Would you like to be chased and taken by me?" the gorgeous Gargoyle asked.
