Children of All Ages

"She emerged from the shadows of a dying day, Lottie Layah, the second most popular porn star in the United States; or so Reverend Jeremy Winsome was able to discern during a hasty internet search only fifteen minutes ago." Thus begins a most unusual friendship and an unforgettable odyssey through the L.A. based pornography industry. This young porno star has seen something at a highly exclusive party in the Hollywood Hills that she cannot purge from her conscience, irrefutable evidence that someone at that location is trafficking in children. She cannot go to the police or federal authorities, because people with her reputation are never taken seriously. What's more, "ratting" on someone in the "industry" could get a body killed. So she follows up on a lead from another "performer" who was helped by a New Jersey minister and solicits his help in exposing this ring. Federal agents from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are spread too thinly and cannot follow-up on testimony from the likes of Lottie Layah, but they might act on an eyewitness account from an ordained clergyman in a mainline denomination. Lottie convinces Reverend Jeremy Winsome to return with her to L.A., act as her (much older) paramour and make the rounds of several adult film studios in an effort to elicit an invitation to one of these monthly parties. "Children of All Ages" contains humor, pathos, tragedy, redemption and even a dash of spiritual faith. It also includes graphic sexuality as one might expect in a novel dealing with pornography. However, it is neither exploitative nor titillating. For this reason the novel is for adults only.
