Christopher Maurice Brown was born in Tappahannock, Virginia, on May 5, 1989. His parents' soul record collection introduced him to music at an early age. However, it was the hip-hop movement that drew him in and sparked his passion for dancing and singing. Inspired by music legends such as Michael Jackson, Brown developed his skills and taught himself how to dance and sing.
After a turning point during a summer camp talent event when he was eleven years old, his musical career took off. When Brown sang Sisqó's "Thong Song," he captivated the crowd with his electric performance and renewed his faith in his musical ability.
