All you have to do is look around. It's obvious that the climate is changing. The question is why and are the changes that are being made enough?
This is an introduction as to how our climate system came into being and the influencing factors that are impacting our environment. It's aimed at those wanting to appreciate how the science developed from 'finger in the air' guess work to sophisticated models that enable accurate predictions of how our world is changing.
Taking the reader on a journey that looks at the Earth from its creation to show how our climate and ecosystem evolved. A journey that includes our human journey, both developmental and behavioural, showing how that has placed additional pressures on our planet.
Together with extensive published evidence, it shows that excess greenhouse gasses are a damaging consequence that drives climate change but not the underlying cause. In so doing, it highlights some uncomfortable questions and actions that will need to be addressed by our global leaders if we, as a species, are to have a chance of survival.
It may not be all doom and gloom, but it illustrates that the stories that are propagated by our leaders may be disingenuous and that our lifestyles will have to significantly change. At the very least you owe it to yourself to be fully informed.
