When Painkiller heard the news that the infamous 'Dead Blue' was coming to town, he was thrilled. After managing to capture a comatose Jenny Knight, Painkiller gave Damian a choice: work for him, or let Jenny die.
This continuation of Vol. 3 details Damian's seven-day struggle to complete his first impossible task under Painkiller's forced employ: to disrupt the political balance of the world and plunge Cemetery City into a civil war. If his actions don't cause a catastrophic division among the denizens of Cemetery City, Painkiller will consider Damian's mission a failure--a future Damian would rather avoid.
Meanwhile, Jenny's sister Aria and Damian's other companions, themselves alienated by Damian's recent actions, are divided on what should be done about Damian, about the plan, about everything. Can they all just get along and devise a plan to "comply" with Painkiller's demands and eventually save Jenny from death, or is this the beginning of the end?
