DESCRIPTION:
I was struck by lightning from the very beginning. As soon as Emma entered the classroom, I became dizzy. The boys began salivating, and everyone's jaw dropped. Emma didn't care. She just kept walking past all those hungry men and sat right next to me. From that moment on, everything changed!
EXCERPT:
"I'm a model. That's why I missed class yesterday. They paid me three grand for a few hours' worth of work."
"Why do you even go to school?" I asked her.
"I'm not going to stay young and pretty forever. I need something to fall back on when I get older," she explained.
She sounded like a smart person. She thought about her future. I had heard many times about girls making a lot of money modeling while young, but later being jobless and penniless when older.
"Do you want to see my modeling pictures?" she asked excitedly.
"I would love to," I said, finishing my juice.
"You're going to have to drive me home. All my pictures are there," she said, wiping her face with a napkin, indicating that she was done eating.
"That's no problem," I said.
At that moment, my girlfriend's best friend, Tracy, approached us. "Hi Alex, how are you?" she asked, smiling.
My heart almost stopped. Was she going to tell my girlfriend she saw me having lunch with another woman?
"Hi, Tracy," I said.
"Are you going to introduce me to your new friend?" she asked.
"Oh, yes. Tracy, this is Emma, my classmate."
They both said hi to each other. Tracy had a crush on me, which made things more complicated. She also realized that I was uncomfortable.
