Following a near death experience he develops the ability to fly in his astral body. During his spare time, he teaches the members of a bicycle club called Mel's Angels how to fly in theirs. One day he rescues Krislyn Ann LaFuria, a strong willed twenty-year-old woman from kidnappers. They quickly develop a close relationship. Together with three dogs, Sampson, Wagger and a dachshund, Elvis Pretzel, they befriend an inter-galactic wizard, Trissmaggis or Maggis as he prefers to be called. Soon a tyrannosaurus-rex intergalactic wizard, Dregyon, a baby quasar, Existor, and the burgess of Telgh join the small band. Meanwhile a vampire, Sinasted Castele, along with the once good turned bad head of the inter-galactic wizard's council, Luten Greck and his evil mentor Hithus are determined to make Earth the feeding grounds of Sinasted and his 'vamps' as he calls his followers. They intend to accomplish their goal by using the powers of enchanted bloodstones against all foes. Will Jimi and his group be able to counter the bloodstones and turn back Hithus and his evildoers?

'She yearned for a pair of ear plugs to soften what had grown into a roar. All at once the noise stopped. She knew whatever it was must be close. Her mind urged her to stick her head out just enough to see what it was but the only response she got from her body was trembling.
Not even wanting to know what was about to happen next, she closed her eyes so tightly tears began rolling down her cheeks.
An ear-piercing shriek finished off the deafening crescendo and her heart nearly leapt from her chest as she felt something grab her left arm and squeeze tight.
She screamed. Her head whipped around as with eyes wide as open sky she reflexively threw herself back. Her head cracked hard against the top of the log. Darkness.

Keena's eyes fluttered back open as a burst of intense white light morphed into the bands of a rainbow before tightening in on itself and spiraling down over her like a sunlit helix made of water beads.'
Sinasted Castele sat on an elaborate hand-carved throne. Its arms extended out past his hands each culminating in a lion's head, fangs bared. The four clawed feet of the chair had talons that protruded out into sharp points.
To Melvin the vamp himself appeared tall and thin. He wore a modern-day black and sand-gray swirled sports shirt and a pair of washed-out tight fitting black jeans that were held up by a thick black belt with a silver human skull belt buckle. He had brushed back jet black hair that only served to make his lily-white skin look even paler. His lips were thin and appeared blood red in color while an overly large nose ended in a classic Roman hook.
He looked Melvin and Keena up and down before speaking.
