Wow! Already we're at Book 4 of the Danielle Diva Dog series, Danielle Goes Wild. My writer Rebecca says there's no such thing as writer's block, so she's good for at least a dozen more books.

Books about me! Danielle Diva Dog! Beautiful Standard Poodle, apricot in color, always searching for love the way beautiful girls do.

But I haven't found that special someone, have I? Rebecca says, Look on the bright side. It could have been worse. I could have been mated with a Great Dane.

But my human, Jeffrey, would never sign me up for a dog like that because he loves me a lot.

I think.

Anyway, he showed his love this past summer by signing me up for something else: doggie camp.

You didn't know they had camps just for dogs?

Believe me. They do.

When we moved up to Boston last winter, Jeffrey told me I'd probably like Boston a lot because there is no place like it.

You can say that again.

At first, I didn't believe him and I was homesick for our glam life in New York. But nothing lasts forever, does it? So here we are in Boston, and guess what?

I do like it. Love it, in fact.

For starters, I have a lot of new friends at our dog park in the South End. First came Siggy, short for Sigmund. He is a handsome, brilliant, white English Bull Terrier like the famous T****t dog. You know the one I mean. Siggy thinks he should have been that dog, but he wasn't.

Siggy's human is a psychiatrist, so Siggy knows a lot about humans and a lot about dogs, too. He knows a ton of stuff about everything. He quickly informed me about the crucial facts of life in Boston. (If you want to read about all this in detail, it's in Rebecca's first book about me, Danielle Diva Dog.)

First off, he said, I must never, ever admit I don't know what, or who, the Red Sox are. I need to tell everyone I'm a big fan. Otherwise, he said, no one would want to be my friend.

Next, he told me about the difference between life in New York and life up here in Boston.

In New York, he said, it's what you have.

In Boston, it's what you know.

Isn't that neat?

Not sure I agree with him, though, because Jeffrey and I knew some pretty smart people in New York, but never mind. Siggy was trying to be helpful, and I appreciated that.

Soon I met Rex, a German Shepherd, and Ramona, a Basset Hound, and Buddy, a dog of no pedigree who arrived one day with his homeless human. I went for a charity swim in Boston Harbor on New Year's Day (really!) and I went on a march to save our dog park from a developer. I went to Cleo's wedding, some of which I don't remember because I was sort of swept off my paws by a handsome dog whose name escapes me.

As you can see, life up here in Boston got to be really interesting and fun, and so when Jeffrey told me I was going to go to summer camp and have a good time, I believed him.

Silly me.

I mean, it wasn't just that the food wasn't so great, and you burned your mouth on the toasted marshmallows, and you had bugs in your bed and your fur.

And it wasn't just that when you went for a Nature Walk you met up with critters like porcupines who to put it mildly were not friendly. Repeat not.

And when you get to the part where I'm kidnapped, don't worry. It all turns out fine in the end.

Have I just committed what they call a "spoiler alert"?

Anyway, at the end of the bookwell, you'll see. I come back to Boston.

And in Boston, every day can be a surprise...and a lot of fun
