Callie Parke's charity auction at Woody Lake's Sunny Vale Community Centre was supposed to be a joyous occasion. Until someone trips over a body and stops the auction in its tracks. Hettie is relieved that the murder has nothing to do with her or her family, but that relief is short-lived when the dead man becomes linked to rumours of fraud surrounding her grandfather's legacy.

Hettie's dream of expanding her croquet courts is in tatters, and her mother is pressuring her to solve the murder and redeem the Parke name. That detective is on the case again and Hettie is shunning him.

But her investigation takes her down a rabbit hole, and when Aunt Alice's enthusiastic help threatens to put them all in danger Hettie is forced to call a halt.

Is she looking in the wrong direction? Can Ceefer help her gather her thoughts and refocus? Because if she can't it won't just be her croquet courts that are in jeopardy.
