Decision Making In Public Sector

The success of any Organization be it a Private or a Public Sector Enterprise (PSE) depends, to a greater degree, on the strength of its decision-making structure. A timely and well-considered decision is like the spark that sets the machinery into motion. Thus, the importance of decision making needs to be appreciated and should not be undermined at any stage. However, in the case of PSE, the problem is compounded as decision making is found wanting practically at all levels.
The due adherence to the laid down procedures and proper recording of the reason for the deviation, if any, is also cited as one of the important factors responsible for delay in PSEs.
