In Deep Dive Against the odds, Dorothy Myrick reveals she was the original scaredy-cat of open water. After learning to swim, it took falling off her bike to start her on a path to scuba diving. She was terrified of being in water that was merely knee deep and now she is a certified scuba diver. She was born with a with a condition of the left arm called radial hemimelia (a reduction in the radial bone of the forearm and the absence of a thumb and index finger).
