I along with my father (my mother had died long back) and a few otherswas trailingmuch behind thecaravan of the Holy Dalai Lama in the course of his arduous trek to India in the year 1959.
The trek in the tough terrains used to last for about eight to ten hours aday. My father was utterly exhausted. Perhaps it was more ofpsychologicalstress of moving awayfrom the homeland than physical strain that had sucked out all of my father's energy.
"No father, I cannot leave you behind and go ahead".
My father coaxed me to carry on. He pointed out to a few shepherds grazing their sheep in the valley and said,
"Don't worry about me. I will be able to spend the remaining years of my life with these shepherds. I will be able to make a nice living too by helping them in their day to day work."
