Sheila Bruhn (née Allan) was born in Malaysia before the outbreak of WWII. She was taken prisoner by the Japanese in Singapore in 1941, at the age of seventeen, For the next three and a half years she was a prisoner of the Japanese in Changi Prison and Sime Road Camp.
