Andrew Lang (1844 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non-; he wrote his own fairy tales such as Prince Prigio and Prince Ricardo of Pantouflia, and wrote numerous historical texts.
The story named "Don Giovanni De La Fortuna" by Andrew Lang describes the story about a man which fritters away all his cash and must resort to begging. The Devil meets him on the road and offers him a purse that is full of gold coins. But only for one condition if he agrees to live without bathing for three years. He agrees, gets rich but becomes unpleasant stinky person, gives the King some cash and offers daughter's hand but she is horrified by Don Giovanni's appearance. Will he find his true love in spite of his awful view?
