Herbie is kind and gives his last crumbs to a curlew, who can't find food in the snow and meets Porick, the Plover, who is similar to Herbie, can NOT fly in straight lines!!

However, after Herbie quizzes Hedley and Hartwig Hares about their origins he adds hares to his guest list, plus list +!

Most of the donks join in Hannah Hares paper chain chase for an Easter egg; although it is only Jan 2nd! Herbie averts a hare brained scheme. How?

The donks pursue a carefree existence on Lytham Green after unknotting three kites to distract Fancy Nancy (DULL Dorothea) from painting her hooves green they play with Edith and Ernest spaniels.

A nonsensical conversation about a dromedary, a two humped camel causes Fancy Nancy to let go, Polly to slip and Fran to be destabilised blown over by a gust of wind as Herbie rants this type of camel only merit is the 'd' connection!

Dex dreams the kites have landed on the crazy golf course; but, one lands near a beach café, where Claire's parents are eating lunch.

Her father recognises the stray kite by a blob of blue paint he smudged on it nearly fifty years ago! Claire's mother thinks he is seeing 'things', until, Herbie e e e e e yores a HUGE hallo making her mother nearly fall off her seat!

Claire's mother reveals how she likes to pop bubbles to destress; but, refuses to pop 'gungy' seaweed as they hunt for the kite and meet Miss T (NOT a Turkey)!!

As the donks have given Claire and Bryan much happiness and now Claire's parents Claire's father treats the donks to butterscotch ices, mends the kite and makes them whistles out of old cans.

The donks are hilarious and opinionated about gnomes (referred to as dwarves) as Allergy Specialist, Claire researches how donks react compared to a plastic donkey (another story)!

Herbie invites Dobbin, a dapple grey shire to a roots party, who wants to jazz up his image and is thrilled to receive sunglasses; but Dex takes advantage of Dobbin and makes him GEE UP!!!! Herbie's ear trumpet fails to deter; but, Fancy Nancy comes to the rescue and ties Dex up in knots!

Finally, Herbie has 'gone off' ear wax; but, the donks are treated to a visit to the wax works by Dolly shire.

The donks don't rate gnomes in any format! Herbie, himself 'a legend', and a genuine donk gives the waxwork Queen some LECs, his favourite cakes for her afternoon tea and thanks her for loving donks first; then, horses second!!

Herbie is NOT a flatterer!!! Merely, Donks must be PROMINENT.
