One such night, the horrible dream reoccurred and Sage felt someone shaking him awake. "Sage, wake up," Jason's voice sounded as if it was coming from so far off it took Sage a long time to clear his head and finally stare groggily up at his friend. "Another dream?" Jason asked with a frown.
"Yeah," Sage answered looking as if he was visibly shaken by the premonition. Always in the past, anything he dreamed about could be interpreted as a dreamscape with an outcome of impending disaster by the people or events that filled his head. He always felt he had these dreams so that he could prevent things from happening and save a few lives.
"What was your dream about this time?" Jason had become familiar with Sage's premonitions in his dream state and always took them seriously since the time they were almost killed on their way home from university. "You were moving around on the bed as if someone or something was after you. It's a wonder you didn't wake the next room since there's only a thin wall dividing us from them."
"There's going to be an armed attack at the college soon," Sage told him in a matter of fact tone, "but I'm not sure anyone at the university will put much stock in a dream. Even though I tried explaining to some on campus about what happened to us last fall on the way home, they kind of brushed it aside and looked at me like I was crazy."
"Well, they should listen to you," Jason answered, his head filled with what Sage had just told him. "I'd suggest you mention it to one of the staff and maybe they will take it higher up so an investigation can begin. I don't want to chance being here if your dream is accurate and they don't listen to you. Especially if guns are involved."
"I can't leave for Christmas vacation before I make someone believe what I see in dreams will eventually happen," Sage sighed heavily. "If I don't try to prevent this attack, I'll never forgive myself."
