What started as a one-night stand in a motel has become much more for Nick, his wife Kelly and the girls. Beth's and Sloane's past catches up with them in this finale to the series. Nick will help the girls shake off their past and they will help he and Kelly have a family.

EXCERPT:
When we pulled up to Sloane's place, both girls were panicked. "Don't stop. Keep going," Sloane shouted. "That's my ex's car over there."

"What's he doing here?" I asked.

"I don't know," Sloane whimpered.

"Look. That's Ed with him," Beth gasped. "Oh, crap. I gave my lawyer your address. He needed to know where I was staying so I told him I'd be here. Ed must have found out. This is my fault."

The two were about to hyperventilate. They didn't get this worked up when Kelly was dragged them around our living room and spanked them. "Somebody tell me what's going on," I said forcefully.

Sloane looked at me wide-eyed and said, "When he got out of jail for the beating me up, Billy called me up and said he was going to hunt me down and kill me. I got a restraining order against him. He violated it the day before our divorce was final and got thrown in jail again. That wascrap! He must have made Ed help him find me."

"That sounds like Ed. He's such a wimp," Beth spat out.

I worked out an idea how to handle the situation. First, I needed to get my gear. "Sloane, hand me the black box from the glove compartment. Beth, spread your legs." I took the knives from the glove compartment and slipped them into my boots.

"What?" Beth said. I pushed her knees apart and pulled the gun locker out from under the seat. After punching in the code, I took out my 9mm and a .22 caliber. I handed the 9mm to Sloane.

"Do you know how to use this?" I asked. She shook her head. If they had to shoot Billy, it would be better if Sloane did it. She was so freaked out, it didn't look like she could handle it so I gave the gun to Beth. After chambering a round, I said, "Here's the safety. Leave it on until you aim it. Keep your finger off the trigger until you have to shoot. When you do, point at the middle of their chest and keep pulling the trigger until they stop moving. Do you understand?"

"You want me to kill him?"

"No. I want to talk him into leaving without him ever seeing you two at all. If I can't do that, I'll stop him. If he gets past me, I want you to kill him. Because if you don't, he might kill you."
