A Second World War journey from the persepective of a man from South Yorkshire, who would join the Royal Engineers and witness events such as the Battle of Britain, journey across the Atlantic to Egypt and take part in the North Africa campaign. He would be captured during the retreat to Tobruk in Libya in 1941. His war years would be spent as a prisoner of war in notorious camps in Italy such as Sulmona, before transfer to the E715 work cmp next to one of the Auschwitz concentration camps. He would take part in one of the death marches of 1945.
