Emanuel Swedenborg (born Emanuel Swedberg) was a Swedish scientist, inventor and philosopher, mostly remembered for his work Heaven and Hell.
In his work Earths in Our Solar System Which Are Called Planets, and Earths in the Starry Heaven Their Inhabitants, and the Spirits and Angels There, first published, in Latin, in 1758, Emanuel Swedenborg describes his encounters with spirits from the planets of our solar system (including Mercury, Mars, Venus and other), as well as the systems beyond, and comes to the conclusion, that the universe is definitely inhabited by other living beings...
