Sheriff Mace Davenport was just doing his job when he confiscated a doomsday weapon from a smuggler's crew. Little did he know that one act would sets off a chain reaction that could blow the whole Confederacy apartliterally. Now he's on the run from his own people and he'll have to team up with every ally he can find, no matter how deadly they might turn out to be later.
When those he considers allies try to kill him and he barely escapes for his life, Davenport's dark past comes back to haunt him. Davenport will have to call in every favor he has left just to stay alive.
