Emma and the Albert Bridge

The mystical world of Turmali is in crisis. Invading aliens from outer space have stolen the Tourmaline gemstones that give power and light to this far-off world. Now few gems remain and the world is dying. The aliens have also destroyed the rainbow bridges that connect the seven lands of Turmali so the people are cut off and isolated, living in fear of their alien invaders the dreaded "Light Killers". The GoMadKids also come from very different backgrounds and the stories empower readers to realise that they too can achieve great things if they apply themselves. Emma King is one of the twelve GoMadKids and she has her own series of ten books for readers to enjoy. In this particular story, the first in the Emma King series, we learn that Emma is bullied at school and finds it hard to make friends. However, one day, a new girl called Selina arrives at Emma's school in Chelsea, London, which gives Emma new hope. Emma makes two more friends Dougie and Marl, an old homeless couple who wander the streets and parks near the River Thames. And she makes an enemy a dark, shadowy figure called a Light Killer that chases her and fills her with fear. But when Emma starts doing good deeds for others, she finds a gleaming Tourmaline gemstone and her life, like the stone, becomes magical.
