In modern science, environmental biotechnology is the applied technology for the study of natural environment. Environmental biotechnology could also imply that one tries to harness biological process for commercial use and exploitation. Environmental biotechnology by contrast, deals readily and apparently with dramatic topics, and though their importance, albeit different, may be every bit as great as their direct relevance is quite readily appreciated by the bulk of population. Cleaning up contamination and dealing rationally with waste is of course, in everbody's best interests. Environmental biotechnology is fundamentally rooted in wastes, in its various guises, typically being concerned with the remediation of the contamination caused by previous use and the impact reduction of current activity of the control of pollution.
