Enemies Within

BEING diligent in prayer, fervent in warfare, we must not forget those dangerous enemies, faceless enemy that serve as barriers to our answered prayers.

We are so quick to fight physical enemy, though nothing is wrong with warfare prayers but we shoot our prayer arrow and bow outward instead to turn it inward, we fight wrong battles, a lot of times believers are eager to shoot, we always want to hold someone responsible for our predicament while we forget the faceless ones.

We must ask ourselves some honest questions, what stopped Moses from entering the promise land? was it a demon or an enemy from pharaohs house? Absolutely No, it was anger. After labouring and toiling to bring the people out of the land of Egypt, just a moment of uncontrolled anger caused him the promised land he so much desired to enter.

What caused David his son and peace towards the end of his life? was it an enemy or servant from Saul's house who compelled David to sleep with Barshebba? Definitely No. but a faceless enemy was with him, Covetousness, he had more than enough wives, why did he have to sleep with another man's wife? We often ignore and think such enemy are not worth fighting, but look at what they did to great people.

Samson, a ruthless enemy called Lust pulled him down, Delilah was in her hut but Samson went to look for her in her territory, he was a Nazarene who judged Israel for twenty years(20) yet he fell, a warlord who conquered a lot of physical enemies with ease but failed to deal with enemy within- dangerous enemy.

Furthermore, enemies within if left unchecked, will bring you down and you would still think you are up. Anger, Unforgiveness, Greediness, Lust, Malice, Bitterness, Pride, Envy, Strife etc are major enemies, hindrances to progress. They will damage the texture of your heart and make it incompatible with breakthrough. Nothing is wrong with warfare prayers but if you want to tackle your enemy start from the ones within and you will enjoy God's presence and outburst of his ceaseless miracles.
