Now what?

He wasn't sure how the planets, stars, and the deity have agreed to allow Celeste to be his, but he would take it and run.

He was running! He wanted to enjoy Celeste. His plan to have her fall in love with him was blowing up. How could she trust him, when he forced her to do what he wanted? His body was breaking under the pressure of Jacob trying to kill him. Jacob had to be silenced soon or he would lose Celeste.

He was hurting Celeste. Every turn he was forced to make, he was doing something to show her he couldn't do the job.

When they came together, nothing mattered. Joel could breathe again. Her kisses demanded attention and her touch burned him. He wanted more. He liked what he was seeing under the monster. It was peaceful to know he was flesh and blood.

Until the ring was shut down, he couldn't be the man she needed and wanted. He had to be the monster she hated.
