The protagonist Bawi (the son) lost everything after he helped his dear friend "Hong-Chul" run night school. Bawi was a diligent young man who had a bright future when he was qualified to work in the big reclamation project in his town. He was about to get a house and the right to use a piece of the cleared land for free for several years, once the project was over. But when Hong-Chul was arrested for running night school, his dream also collapsed. He was fired from the workplace. As he was penniless, he even thought about committing a theft by breaking into a warehouse. Then he stopped his act before going further. At that moment, his father came across his mind. His father was a big, muscular man who also was a hard-working person. The life of Bawi's father was not unlike Bawi's own life: The life of misery and resentment. Their life was almost like a saying, "the sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the sons." Now, Bawi should break that vicious cycle. But how?
