Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam Darcy are finding their first Christmastide at Pemberley to be something of a trial.
Lady Catherine deBourgh and her daughter Anne arrived quite unexpectedly; another guest has suffered accident and been consigned to her rooms to recuperate; Jane and Bingley are house hunting; at least six of their family and friends are in various stages of love, with all its attendant miseries.
