Fortnum the crocodile is lonely. His neighbors are afraid of him. He longs to party with the monsters who live up the hill but worries they will reject him, too. One day, he disguises himself as a monster and braves one of their parties, where he has a wonderful time. But he wonders if the monsters would still be so nice if they knew he was a crocodile. In author Anjali Morard's debut picture book, vibrantly and lovingly illustrated by Amy Steele, children will empathize with Fortnum's shyness and rejoice with him as he overcomes it, finding acceptance and kindness. With its quiet humor and tenderness, Fortnums Night Out will delight young children and parents alike.
