From Shepherd to King

Many of us know David as the teenager who slew the giant Goliath with a slingshot. Others acknowledge him as the great King of Israel! But it's his life in between these times when God deals with David that we begin to learn the character of God and the value of having faith in Him.

David shows us that when we put God first in our lives and follow Him, we can win every battle that comes at us. We realize that what we need most in life is to know God and love Himand to have faith in Him alone. David also shows us that when we sin, we can come to God with a repentant heart and He forgives us and forgets it.

This book touches on the highlights of David's life and tells of some specific events that helped to mold the Jewish nation. The story is taken from the book of 1 Samuel 8 and goes through to 2 Kings 2. However, there are too many details in David's life to write in one book, but they are all there in the Bible for you to study.
