INTERVIEW WITH THE WRITER: How did you come to write this particular medical romance?

I was living in a small city in B.C. when a newborn went missing from the hospital. The entire community was horrified. The police and the public searched frantically. The hospital staff were in shock and felt guilty. The baby was recovered safely, leading to new and more stringent safety precautions. It was the kernel of a book that had to be written.
