He took a shallow breath through clinched teeth. The enemy marines had them surrounded on the Imperial starship. His fellow confederation officer was unconscious as Lt. Attin pressed the button on the alien device, not sure if it was their salvation or the end of the universe. A roaring sound filled their ears and there was a bright flash of light.

Lieutenants Attin and Harrison, of the United SOL Confederation of Planets, have many decisions to make, both personally and professionally, to secure the safety of the Confederation. That will even include decisions for those they've loved that may or may not still be alive.

Their upbringing from different planets and expectedly, their DNA, provide unique and different perspectives that should be contradictory. Instead, the skills they possess and the relationship they form are exactly what they need on this unexpected path of adventure.
