Charles Montgomery Skinner (1852-1907) was an American writer who published myths and legends collection books. His dream was to make American folklore heritage more glorious. Skinner worked in a wide range of genres, he worked as a journalist and a playwright. The short story "God On The Mountains" by Skinner reopens the question of God existence. In a unique form the author describes mountains and its associations with Gods. The story consists of different legends that refers to many of our own mountains. One of the main sources of legends' origination are aboriginal legends of Great Spirit who was the chief and had power to create any mountain in any place of the Earth.
