Why would someone take the time to write about their childhood?

Well, for me, it was mostly because I enjoy reminiscing. While writing my first book, *Finding My Boundaries Interesting People I've Met While Surveying,* I felt like I could almost relive some of those scenes, while recalling them in vivid detail. As I reflected on the earlier days of my life and pondered the stories that existed mostly in my memories, I wanted to try my writing skills at putting them into a book

.

As with the first book, I imagined that this would be a good way to memorialize the stories and keep them for future generations. Before I finished this book, I was blessed with the news of a grandson coming into this world! At that point, I determined that this book would be even more important for my children and their children to know who I was and who I am.Eric B. Gladhill, Author

This book contains stories about growing up in the Appalachian Mountains in south central Pennsylvania, and most people can relate to the circumstances that the author relates: stories of childhood games, sports, and, most importantly, interesting characters. All of this occurs during the tumultuous times of America, during the Vietnam War and the protests related to that conflict.

It is written with a spirit of thankfulness that the author has for his circumstances and the family which gave him support throughout his life. It will leave the reader reflecting on the good things in their life and focusing on a better future.
