Gray Song

Tucker, separated from his wife Mary and grieving the loss of their baby, sets out to save his estranged mother from a storm cloud that follows and torments her. He embarks on this journey with his uncle's urging, from his island home in the Northeast to the desert in the Southwest, to find answers and come to terms with Emily's death.

But he soon discovers that this cloud story is not a myth. It is indeed real and has grown into a petulant killer storm that hunts the mysterious Catharina, who chooses to stay one step ahead of her only son and fulfill her wish to end the madness for good. Her burden can never be his burden, not ever! This is what she believes. Along with his blood bros, Mike and Olin, and two special dogs who are more than they appear, Tucker battles wind and rain, landslides and tornados, aftermath and carnage to save someone who doesn't want to be saved and mend a marriage that may be too heartbroken to mend.

Recognized as a top finalist in the 2023 ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Writing Competition, Gray Song is a fast-moving chase story that blends deep emotions with humor, tugs at our heartstrings, and sneaks a peek at the supernatural. Gray Song was also recently recognized for outstanding literary acheivement as a BookFest finalist and awarded third place in the thriller category for Fall 2023.

When he's not writing about love, misfits, and intergenerational relationships, SEAN CADY JOHNSON watches way too much TV, rides his mountain bike, and buys stuff for his Jeep. He lives in southern Rhode Island with the home-posse: his wife, two kids, two dogs, and Mittens the cat. Gray Song is Sean's debut novel.
