Green Bananas

One of the very first childhood lessons Patrick learned from his dad was, "Never buy green bananas unless you plan on being around long enough to enjoy them!"

At age 21, when Patrick was in ICU, his dad came walking in after a meeting with doctors, bent over his bed with tears gushing out of his eyes and said, "I love you and will always take care of you!" Patrick whispered, "GREAT when do I get out of here?" His dad replied, "They say you only have 72 hours." Patrick responded, "I guess I shouldn't buy any Green Bananas." He recalls thinking, "It wasn't fair. If I was supposed to die, why couldn't I have died there, in the car crash?"

Patrick never gave up. Not only did he survive a catastrophic car crash, he also made it through years of intense rehab to eventually become a tri-athlete and set world endurance records. Follow Patrick as he finds his resiliency, personal drive, and a will to live.
