Grit (Personality trait) The unwavering commitment and determination to achieve a long-term goal.

What is your opinion on setting long-term versus short-term goals?

"What Exactly Is a Short-Term Goal?

A short-term goal is something you want to complete relatively soonit could be as soon as the end of the day or several months later. These objectives bridge the gap between your current situation and the next step toward achieving something bigger in a specific and measurable way.

The majority of your short-term goals are stepping stones to a much larger long-term goal. These smaller, more manageable goals allow you to make steady progress toward the life-changing visions you want to achieve.

To make progress in your life, you must have short-term goals, whether they are just one or several smaller goals that build on each other to bring you closer to your long-term vision. In other words, your short-term goals will help to make much larger and more

complicated goals achievable by providing a step-by-step plan for success.

Short-term goals might include: Lose 5 pounds in the next 5 weeks Finish an ongoing work project at least 24 hours before its deadline Earn an A- or better on an upcoming school exam

What Exactly Is a Long-Term Goal?

Long-term goals are those that you want to achieve in the far future. They will not be completed by tomorrow or even next week. Long-term goals are the big dreams that give you direction and purpose in life. They frequently define your values and future intentions.

A good way to identify a long-term goal is to consider whether it will necessitate any of the following:

Deliberate planning Commitment Hard work Significant time

Long-term goals are difficult to achieve; instead, they necessitate a careful balance of careful planning and steadfast perseverance. These goals typically require multiple steps, which is why having short-term goals is inherently necessary for achieving your long-term goals.

Because long-term goals aim to ensure you reach your full potential, they frequently consider a variety of aspects of your life, including your personal life, relationships, and financial factors. Do you have enough money to acquire the resources you need to reach your goal? Do you have a family who could be affected by your goal? All of these factors must be taken into account.

When it comes to long-term goals, it's perfectly acceptable to be ambitious. Some people believe that "the bigger, the better." The only problem is that your long-term objectives may appear overwhelming at first glance. For example, suppose you want to lose 100 pounds. Where do you begin? How do you get from where you are now to where you want to be? For any goal, the answer is the same: take one step at a time. Your short-term objectives determine how you begin to make your dreams a reality.
