Music holds a special place in our lives. Emotionally influencing, it soothes our souls or excites us to victory. Music's mystery is hidden within its vibratory structure. Quantum physics dictates that everything in nature - including humans vibrates, radiating energy outward similar to a rung bell. We are intrinsically musical beings and will therefore be influenced by musical laws. Within this principle lays profound truths. Each person produces their own musical note interacting with other people in relationships. The space between these notes - the interval - determines the quality these two notes make in a relationship and is defined as Harmony. Over the centuries, musicologists described how these harmonic intervals convey the totality of all human emotions and desires from joy to sadness, tension to meditative calm. In Western music, the chromatic scale comprises of 12 notes; mapped to the twelve months of the year, these twelve notes become connected to our birth month. Alone, our personal musical note is just a melody with no harmony; our relationships weave two people's vibrational energies to create a powerful musical interval. Just as musicologists predicted, these twelve musical interval relationships can beautifully reflect our human emotions, desires and expressions of interpersonal relationships. Harmonology is a unique and intriguing analysis of how our musical essence can create harmonious and successful relationships by understanding our underlying vibrations while learning a more gracious way of interacting within them. When comparing relationships to musical intervals, the author found significant overlap between our relationship's emotional experiences and the musical interval's emotional expressions. Through the author's research, he found that some couples were able to overcome some of the darker and challenging emotional characteristics through changing the way they interacted and achieved a deeper appreciation for their relationships using methods called "Inversion" and "Lateralization". Just as energy is constantly in flux, each partner will alternate between being the melody and the harmony. When tension or support is needed in the relationship, Harmonology describes "Inversion" as an increase or decrease in your vibrational energy to open up your relationship's ability to become more malleable and help adapt during your life's journey. This concept is accompanied by a shift from a logical, analytical and objective mindset to an intuitive, meditative and subjective one, a prcoess termed "Lateralization." For each of the musical intervals in the book, the author describes the qualities, the challenges, and the opportunities for growth and joy. He goes on to discuss the benefits Harmonology brings to even larger groups than just two people; families, sports teams, project teams, corporate executives. By opening and shifting your relationship dynamic, you can attract the relationship quality you desire and deserve. All forms of relationships benefit from understanding their musical connections. Use the insight from Harmonology to take control of your life and help cease the reoccurring spiral of unhealthy relationships you may be experiencing. Use it to remain in-tune and to recognize and dispel strong influences and diffuse or correct potentially intense conversations. Apply Harmonology to your life to learn insight and perspective to achieve the most harmonious relationships, whether with your lover, children, boss, employee or best friend.
