Andrew Lang (1844 1912) was a Scots poet, novelist, literary critic, and contributor to the field of anthropology. He is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. The Andrew Lang lectures at the University of St Andrews are named after him. Lang was also a prolific author of works both fiction and non.
He wins who waits is a fairy tale, included in the Andrew Lang's Olive Fairy Book. This is the story about a princess, who was about to get married. But, aside from being beautiful and clever, she was stubborn and never changed her mind. And she did not to marry anyone proposed by her father at all. So the king had nothing else to do but give up and let her choose her husband to be. And the chosen would receive a golden apple as a sign of her gratitude. Who would it be?
