Healing Him

Devin Cambridge was looking forward to the big move to Magnolia, South Carolina. Having landed a job taking over a veterinarian's practice just out of University in Pennsylvania, he was looking forward to having his own practice in just six months. He planned to shadow the current doctor and learn the ropes of the clinic, but he knew soon that he'd be his own boss, something most of his peers wouldn't experience for years to come. The only thing Devin wasn't expecting was the benefits of living in a small town, and many of the downfalls.

Word spread fast that the new vet had just arrived in town, and that he was young and handsome. Forty-year-old Janis, a recent divorcee with loads of money and a body that could turn heads, set her sights on Devin without being willing to lose at this game of cat and mouse. But the more Devin learns about the real character of Janis and what his behind her layer of make-up, the more he starts to realize Janis is just bad karma. Little does he know just how bad Janis is for him, and his reputation.

It's not until Devin sees a young woman walking a large dog he assumes is half wolf that he is not only pulled deep into the local grapevine, but also starts to wonder the story behind Philly and her massive dog, William. The more he tries to learn about Philly, the more he wonders what is truth and what is rumor. When William becomes sick, he'll find his opportunity to get close to Philly and learn the truth for himself. But not before Janis will try everything she can to get between them and their growing love for each other.
