Hey, I'm blue!

This book is the story of the author's life from zero in 1949 to seventy-two in 2021, however inconsequential it may have been. He was the youngest of six children in a dysfunctional family living in a dysfunctional world. Most of the main characters appear during the teen years and beyond. The author was born into simplicity and poverty and that mix was fraught with tragedy. His father died when he was very young and his mother remarried when he was still very young.

They moved from the country to a backward small town near a large city in another province where no one spoke their language and that in itself was a major upheaval. The story progresses from year to year as dictated by events caused by or causing excessive drinking, sex, criminal activity, deaths, suicides, affairs, floods, etc. It also includes a lot of strange and funny anecdotes based on work and life experiences.

As the author ages, his reactions to life and his interactions with friends, family and co-workers change accordingly and make for a veritable soap opera that is difficult not to keep following.
