Garth and Sasha struggle to unravel their feelings

When Garth comes to terms with his attraction for Sasha he decides to man up and ask her to be his mate. However, Sasha misunderstands his intentions and rejects Garth harshly. Feeling bereft, Garth seeks advice from his friend vampire Dominic Wilde. Dominic explains to Garth the proper way to ask out a human female and also tells Garth about a fight club event where 'animals' are supposed to make an appearance.

It's a revolution when Garth's clan fights for freedom

Days pass without Sasha hearing from Garth, and when she discovers that he went to face the Red Priest all on his own there's only one thing she can do. She bravely asks plant alien Malakye Sterling to unlock her memories. Sasha's mysterious past is finally revealed, and an unexpected connection to Garth, the shifters, and the Red Priest is brought to light.

Powerful enemies lurk in the shadows of San Francisco

The Red Priest isn't the only enemy Garth and Sasha are going to have to defeat before they'll be free to explore their feelings of burgeoning love for each other. The Black Dragon Clan plans to open a portal powerful enough to let Lucifer and his army of demons through to take over the Earth and enslave humanity. Rescuing a pink-haired damsel in distress suddenly means whether or not Garth will be able to save the fate of humanity.
