History as a Mirror

"History as a Mirror" Simply stated, "History as a Mirror" is a history book, it recorded history which covered 1362 years and the period from 403 BC to 959 AD, including the Warring States Period, the Qin Dynasty, the Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties, Three Kingdoms, the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the South and North Dynasties, the Sui Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty, five dynasties and ten states. It is a chronological record of history, so called Chronicles. In the recording of "History as a Mirror", it was mainly about the history of political struggle and the characters who were also mainly politicians, how they compete for political power and establish the dynasty; how they fight, kill until the decline in internal dynasty and were replaced by opposition forces. There are wisdom, conspiracy, valor, cruel, human struggle and persistence and degenerate. Although the book also records some scholars and other human activities, almost all are related with the politics. "World Youth Literary Classics Library - History as a Mirror" was written by choosing a number of chapters from the original "History as a Mirror". Each of these chapters is relatively independent and readable. If joining them to read, we will have a general understanding on the historical features which the "History as a Mirror" recorded.
