Hopeful Heart

Lisa Curry spent her whole life grappling with loss and abandonment. Her mother's absence instilled in her confusion, insecurity, and feelings of unworthiness. Early experiences taught her that the best way to guard her heart was to keep to herself. Matt Gunther was the man she allowed in. With his sweet charms and tender touch, he broke through the barriers she'd put up. Yet, in the end, their love left Lisa at her most vulnerable alone and pregnant.

Suddenly, Lisa's hope of repairing her relationship with her mother seemed lost. The chance for her to take part in the exciting life her mother had always lived would have to wait. Lisa needed to focus on nurturing the child growing inside her, the baby whose existence, so far, had put more distance between her and her mother.

Hopeful Heart is a short prequel to Bleeding Heart. It tells the story of how Lisa craved to be a daughter while she struggled to become a mother. As her belly broadened, her goals had been pulled in two different directions for two different loves. And though she had begun to lose certain comforts, it surprised Lisa to learn that along with her growing fetus could grow a hopeful heart.
