Vampires don't really have much to be afraid of. Unlike humans, guns, germs and steel don't have much of an effect on a vampire. When you're already dead, what's to fear, a wooden stake held by a creature that doesn't have near your strength or speed? Vampires are practically unstoppable.
And let's think about the whole undead thing. Yeah, they're not really alive, but in most of the stories, they are mostly alive. Eternal pleasures, eternal power, what's not to like about being a vampire?
You can have that kind of life: a life of power, a life without fear, and an everlasting life.
