Most people sometimes snore for a variety of reasons, and even many dogs and some cats do. Snoring can drastically affect your health and your work due to fatigue and poor concentration, your relationships due to irritability and decreased drive for love making.

Snoring occurs when a person's airways narrows and muscles in the throat begin to block part of the area, causing the person to snore. Snoring can get worse with age if a person smokes, is overweight, takes sedatives, or has a family history of snoring.

When a person's airways become so small that they regularly close, this is called sleep apnea, and it causes a pause in breathing, which can actually happen several times during a person's sleep and they won't realize it.

They wake up cranky, tired and don't understand why. If they know they are snoring all they want to know is how to stop snoring when they are worried about sleep apnea. Statistics indicate that up to half of people who snore have this serious problem.
